In the Framework of the “Lifelong Learning Programme”, Sub-programme “Leonardo Da Vinci”, Action “Transfer of Innovation”, a transnational project is launched entitled “Promotion of Integration in the planning and provision of social services within local authorities through municipal staff vocational training- A Lever for Local Development”.

This is a transnational project comprising of seven (7) partners from four (4) EU countries, namely Greece, France, UK and Lithuania. It has a two years implementation period (October 2012 – September 2014) and is co-funded by 75% by EC.

The objective of this project is the implementation of an integrated work model in social services within Local Authorities.

Specific goals:

• The promotion of coordination/communication within the system of integrated social services.
• The upgrade of professionals’ qualifications.
• The supply of integrated social services.

The project’s core activities involve:
• Conventional vocational training in integration for staff employees of the participating municipalities in the project.
• Pilot implementation of this integrated system.
• Distant-learning courses for local authorities’ employees throughout Europe.
• Issue of an Implementation Guide on this system.
